Vital Boost was originally formulated by Victor Zeines, DDS, to help protect his patients from the effects of dental X-rays. Dr. Zeines has expanded and improved upon his supplement to now help protect all of us from everyday devices that emit electro-magnetic radiation (including the Doppler effect from weather radar, wireless Internet, etc.). All of these pollutants produce free radicals that can affect your immune system. The high-antioxidant formulation of Vital Boost was designed to help reduce the effects of these pollutants. Aging also seems decreased when free radical populations are reduced. Today’s world offers us a variety of choices – some beneficial, others detrimental to our health.
Although we all share common goals for a better, healthier life with energy and joy, we don’t always make the right choices as to the foods we eat and environments in which we live. Many outside factors prevent us from achieving good health, including stress, pollution, diet, radiation, cell phones, microwaves, computers, high-tech communication devices, and electrical conveniences we rely on every day. Their debilitating effects upon us are constant and accumulative. Research is beginning to confirm that even low-level electromagnetic radiation can negatively affect our DNA and cellular health.
FACT: Sperm counts have been decreasing while cancers are increasing.
FACT: Life spans have increased (due to increased birth-survival rates and new surgical procedures) but quality of life has decreased significantly.
FACT: More people suffer from chronic pain, weaknesses, depression, fatigue, and immune health disorders than ever before.
Vital Boost is a powder liquid drink mix because the variety of antioxidants in it is more easily absorbed as a fluid. Liquid nutrients can be concentrated and better ingested by your body since no fillers or binders are used.
What the ingredients do:
Vitamin A –
A powerful antioxidant used to enhance immunity, vitamin A is needed for the repair and maintenance of gingival (or gum) tissue. It is important in the formation of bones and teeth.
Vitamin B complex –
The B vitamins help to maintain the health of the nerves, skin, eyes, hair, liver, and mouth, proper brain function, and muscle tone in the gastrointestinal. The B complex acts as co-enzymes, helping enzymes to react with other substances for energy production. Some of their functions are as follows.
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) –
Enhances circulation, aids in the production of hydrochloric acid, and helps promote muscle tone.
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) –
Necessary for red blood cell production. Acts with Vitamin A to maintain gingival tissue. Prevents and can treat cataracts. Deficiencies lead to inflammation of the mouth and tongue.
Vitamin B3 (Niacin) –
Aids in nervous system functioning, needed for proper circulation and the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates. Helps to produce hydrochloric acid. Deficiencies lead to canker sores and halitosis.
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid) –
This anti-stress vitamin helps to maintain the adrenal glands. An essential element of coenzyme A, B5 is vital for many metabolic functions.
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) –
Plays a role in cancer immunity and antibody production. Aids in red blood cell production and the sodium/potassium balance. Needed to synthesize RNA and DNA.
Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) –
Helps to promote normal growth of the fatty sheaths that cover and protect nerve endings. Linked to the production of acetylcholine, which assists in memory and learning. Required for proper digestion and absorption of foods. Deficiencies lead to inflammation of the oral cavity.
Vitamin C –
An antioxidant that recharges other antioxidants such as Vitamin E. Because it is water soluble, it is highly effective in body fluids. Considered the first line of defense in plasma against free radicals. Vitamin C can protect the brain and spinal cord from free radical damage when taken in high doses. It is much more effective when used in the presence of hesperidin. One of the most powerful antioxidants, this vitamin is involved in over 300 body functions and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the oral tissues through the formation of collagen. Aids in tissue repair and will work synergistically with Vitamin E to remove free radicals from the body.
Vitamin E –
Powerful antioxidant that prevents the oxidation of lipids. Cell membranes are composed of lipids. Because Vitamin E is fat soluble, it protects the cells against the attacks of free radicals. Necessary for tissue repair. Enhances sperm production, maintains healthy nerves, and strengthens capillary walls. Important in the prevention of cancer and cardiovascular disease. Promotes blood clotting and wound healing. (J Nutr 2000; 130:2932-7)
Called the glucose tolerance factor, this essential mineral helps stabilize blood sugar levels through proper insulin utilization and the metabolism of glucose. Involved in protein synthesis, this mineral helps maintain oral tissue integrity. Only one in ten Americans gets an adequate amount of chromium in their diets.
Aids in the formation of blood, bone, hemoglobin, and red blood cells. Forms an important skin protein working with Vitamin C and zinc called elastin. Involved in hair and skin coloring, energy production, and taste sensitivity. Copper is needed for joints and healthy nerves.
Catalyst in enzyme activity, especially in energy production. Assists in calcium and potassium uptake. Aids in the transmission of muscle and nerve impulses. Aids in maintaining the body’s pH and normal temperature. Necessary for protection of soft tissue from calcification. Plays a role in the formation of bone and carbohydrate and mineral metabolism.
Necessary for the synthesis and normal growth of bone. Used in the formation of cartilage and synovial fluid, which lubricates joints. Needed for protein and fat metabolism sugar regulation and a healthy immune system.
Co-Enzyme Q10 –
Also called ubiquinone, it is a very powerful antioxidant, aids in circulation, stimulates the immune system, and increases tissue oxygenation. A six-year study at the University of Texas showed that people with congestive heart failure taking co-enzyme Q10 had three times the survival rate after three years then people who didn’t. Helps to metabolize fats and carbohydrates by stimulating the cells mitochondria.
Pine Bark Extract –
Also called Pycnogenol, this contains Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins (OPCs). These are also known as flavonoids that have very powerful antioxidant properties. Studies suggest that OPCs may be fifty times as powerful as Vitamin E and twenty times as powerful as Vitamin C in terms of antioxidant activity. Because they are water soluble and can cross the blood-brain barrier, OPCs can protect the brain and the spinal cord from free radical activity. These will increase the effectiveness of Vitamin C by working with the antioxidant Glutathione to recycle and restore oxidized Vitamin C.
An essential trace mineral that acts as an antioxidant with Vitamin E. It increases antioxidant enzyme levels in cells. Selenium is a component of the antioxidant glutathione peroxidase, which targets hydroxyl radicals and converts them to water. It is important for the heart, blood, and liver. Used to inhibit the oxidation of fats, it is a vital antioxidant, especially when used with vitamin E, protecting the immune system by preventing the formation of free radicals. Needed for tissue elasticity. High levels of selenium can lead to loss of teeth and a metallic taste.
Main antioxidant function is the prevention of fat oxidation. Part of SOD. Needed for proper maintenance of vitamin E levels in the blood and aids in the absorption of vitamin A.
Regulates transfer of nutrients through cells. Levels decline with age. Aids in muscle contraction and helps maintain the body’s water balance.
Needed for nitrogen metabolism. Low levels seen with cancers and impotence.
Phosphatidyl Choline – Component of lecithin, helps to break down fatty acids. Helpful in heart and liver problems.
Powerful antioxidant, helps reduce blood clots (a major cause of heart attacks), and reduces cholesterol levels. Inhibits the action of free radicals, which slows the rate of tumor growth.
Provides sulforaphane, D-glucarate, and phytoextracts that help protect cellular DNA and are believed to help block the formation of tumors due to their detoxification and anti-mutagenic properties.
Marigold (lutein) – Contains lycopene, which protects the eye.
Aids in cell growth and the utilization of the other B vitamins.
Folic Acid – Considered a “brain food.” Needed for formation and proper functioning of white blood cells. Functions as a coenzyme in DNA and RNA synthesis. Helps reduce risk of atherosclerosis.
Helps metabolize excess fat. Needed for healthy thyroid and helps protect against radiation.
Green Tea Extract – Acts as an antioxidant, considered one of the most potent antioxidants available. Protects against cancer. Stimulates the immune system and fights tooth decay.
